Head for the hills as Australia?s leading professional female snowboarders rally together on August 30 to raise money and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Center (NBCC) in an event called the Boarding For Breast Cancer Day.

Held at Perisher Blue Ski Resort, the festivities include snowboarding half pipe demonstrations, live dj?s, art installations showcasing works inspired by the event, the Yen Magazine rail challenge and a charity auction, with all proceeds going directly to the NBCC.

The non-profit initiative is being organized by a broad collective of volunteers from the sports industry sector- including leading Australian professional snowboarders Sasha Ryzy and Katie Brauer- and supported by some big name companies with even bigger hearts; Electric, Burton, Roxy, Mambo, Billabong, Rip Curl, Hurley, DC and 1800 Reverse.

The day is hoped to raise $10,000 and was designed as a fun get-together to promote a healthy sport and an even healthier awareness- that the best defense against breast cancer is early detection.

The event is free to attend with the purchase of a Perisher Blue lift pass.
