Scotland Fully Open This Weekend, Including Glencoe

All five of Scotland's ski centres will be open this weekend, including, conditions permitting, Glencoe which only a few months ago had planned to remain 'moth balled' for this season until a public outcry and offers of volunteer support caused a change of heart from the ownership. Roads around the ski area including the Main Glasgow - Fort William road were closed earlier this week with lorries jack knifing on the fresh snow.

Glencoe and Nevis Range on the West have caught the best of the latest snow although Cairngorm, which had some of the best conditions in December, has had more fresh falls and will open all five sectors at the weekend all being well.

In the east Glenshee and the Lecht have had the least of the fresh falls to date, but both have adequate cover. Low temperatures and wind chill factors means that skiers and boarders should be
