Sierra-at-Tahoe Hosts Boarding for Breast Cancer Snowboard and Music Festival
Friday, 02 April 2004

South Lake Tahoe, CA April 1, 2004 - Sierra-at-Tahoe is proud to host the return of Boarding for Breast Cancer on April 3, 2004. As in years past, Sierra-at-Tahoe expects an entertaining music line-up, interactive and educational booths, and a rail jam competition to add to the excitement.

Boarding for Breast Cancer is a non-profit fundraising event, focused on youth education and awareness. The purpose of the event is to educate young women about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the benefits of good health practices through a series of action sports and music events.

A portion of all the days lift ticket sales will be donated to breast cancer research, awareness and education. Also, attendees are invited to obtain pledges to raise money for the cause. Pledge forms are available at , as well as select South Lake Tahoe locations. Top fund-raisers will receive great prizes donated by Sierra-at-Tahoe. Over the past 7 years, Sierra-at-Tahoe has helped raise more than $600,000 for breast cancer research and education.

Guests can stop by the health fair in the base area to gather information, view the displays and demonstrations and listen to educated speakers. Female-specific gear and apparel sponsors will be selling merchandise at the vendor fair area, including Burton Snowboards, OP Girls Learn to Ride, Sessions, 686, SnowBunny Snowboards and Beloved Apparel. Half of the proceeds from all vendors sales will be donated to Boarding for Breast Cancer.

One of the main attractions of this event is the music festival. This season should prove to be no exception. All bands booked for this event are either all-female or feature female vocalists and include Shoshonah Beck, Milka, Finding Stella, Mudbath and Simon Stinger. These bands will rock the slopes of Sierra-at-Tahoe from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The party will continue at Stone St. inside Caesars Tahoe from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live music from the Boarding for Breast Cancer bands, happy hour and food specials, a pool tournament, darts and shuffleboard for $1 and a male auction. All proceeds will be donated to Boarding for Breast Cancer. After the Stone St. party, Blues Traveler will rock the stage at Caesars.

There is no cost to attend the Boarding for Breast Cancer event; however, a lift ticket or season pass is required to get on the mountain. There is no entry fee required to enter the Rail Jam competition. Those seeking further information on this event can contact Sierra-at-Tahoe at (530) 659-7453 or log onto www.SierraAtTahoe.com.
