Hot news from Apex snowboards!
Wednesday, 17 October 2007

Not so long ago 2 enthusiastic snowboarders decided to construct their own snowboards…
With hard work, dedication and lots of prototypes, the two founder of Apex, Hans-Peter Maier and Bernd Wallner, made a name for themselves as skilled snowboard designers and innovative engineers.
Only hand-crafted boards leave the Apex-Lab based in Hollersbach, in the center of the Austrian Hohe Tauern.

We presented you Apex snowboards last year already (check the post here).
Here’s an update of what the Apex guys have been cooking up for you for the new season:

This year Apex added some special features to their website.
The first one is the Customizer, an online configuration tool where you can modify the colors of their Apex and ProModels boards. More than 4.000 different color-combinations are possible, a personal-id can be added and the board can be specified according to your riding-style and preferences.
They also started a collaboration with different artists, and a board serie was born: the ArtistEdition.
They wanted to combine first class snowboards with art, so they worked with different designers and the result is a serie of boards with completely different styles. For example Christophe Remy from Brussels designed the board he named inBloom. Very fine and detailled ornaments from different eras tell little stories, it depends where you look on the board.

Finally they are hosting a Design-Competition, where the winner will receive his own unique board.
The official rewarding will take place Nov. 11th 2007 at the Castle of Kaprun together with the BackonBoard King of the
Stone-Cage Railbattle and the BackonBoard Party.

And to spice it up here a Apex video where you can see that these guys don’t joke. They are true to snowboarding and that is why we support them!
