UK broadcaster Channel 4 re-commissioned Hothouse Productions to produce 110
hours of winter sports coverage from the FIS World Cup tours of Alpine Skiing,
Snowboarding, Freestyle Skiing and Nordic disciplines.
The series, which starts on November 18 and runs through to April 6, 2008,
consists of 20 x 1 hour Sunday morning programmes, with two-hour highlights
programmes playing late night on Monday and Tuesdays, and a dedicated Snowboard
and Freestyle programme scheduled for Friday nights.
Channel 4’s Head of Sport Andrew Thompson said: “This is the sixth year of
Winter Sports programming on Channel 4 and our coverage continues to be
unparalleled anywhere else on terrestrial television. Channel 4 remains
committed to winter sport and we hope for another exciting season of race action
with the possibility that we’ll see some fresh British talent emerge”.
