We’ve received this press release earlier this week announcing the opening of the Roxy Glacier Park in Kitzsteinhorn (AT). This is great news for all you riders leaving next to Kaprun!

All you have to know holds in 7 ligns:

  • Sea level: 2,900 m
  • Length: 250m
  • Width: 100m
  • Lines: 3
  • Obstacles: 23 (in the mid of winter: 17)
  • Jumps: 11
  • Rails/Boxes: 12

But do read the rest of it, coz an intern probably had a rough time writing it, so give him some credit!

The winter is back! Since Mid of October, the Roxy Glacier Park at Kitzsteinhorn is open again. At a snowy 2,900 metres sea-level, loads of obstacles for all skills are ready at Kaprun's glacier plateau. And with the opening of the park, also the first events will take place.

At the Roxy Glacier Park - the first Roxy Park worldwide -, the Kitzsteinhorn shaper crew together with Mellow Constructions erected a Pro Line with a double kicker combo with 14- and 8-metre tables each. The Easy Line with four five-metre kickers is already prepared since the beginning of October. For all jibbers five rails and boxes are ready by now. The whole park will be re-shaped regularly. Gradually, the park will be extended within the next few days until up to 23 obstacles with 11 jumps and 12 rails and boxes for all skills will be ready at the 250-metre long terrain.

At the end of November, also the DC Central Park at Sonnenkarbahn chair lift and the Easy Park will open. Then, snowboarders and freeskiers will have the opportunity to show their skills at a 30,000 m2 terrain.
