Lack of snow delays TAC
Tuesday, 30 March 2004
The half-pipe and quarter-pipe competitions of the The Arctic Challenge are delayed because of lack of snow in the Tromsoe region.

The Arctic Challenge, which is partly organized by snowboard star Terje Haakonsen, started last weekend with parties and warm-up events.

However, the planned half-pipe competition on Monday was postponed until Tuesday, while the quarter-pipe competition will get underway on Wednesday.

The TAC organizers are hoping for a new quarter-pipe altitude record after building a 10 metre tall jump, which they call "the world's largest".
