Thursday, 12 August 2004
AOL has linked up with extreme sports TV internet channel High.tv to offer its broadband customers footage of over 25 different adventure events.
Subscribers to Broadband Gold and Platinum can view sports such as surfing, skating, snowboarding, biking and climbing 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Chris Condron, head of broadband content at AOL UK said: We know many of our members are passionate about sport and broadband provides the ideal environment for them to follow their favourite activity online, whether its football, cricket, or something a little more adventurous.
High.tv has broadcast live sports events including the ICC World Climbing Championships from Chamonix, World Cup Mountain biking from Alpes dHuez and Fort William, Snowbombing from Les Arcs and the Professional Windsurfing Association (PWA) World Cup from Fuerteventura.
According to AOL, it is the first time its members have had access to a scheduled TV channel of this kind. Members can also access video coverage of rugby matches in the Zurich Premiership and Powergen Cup.
