There are early reports of two new lifts planned for the giant Portes du Soleil ski region which crosses the border between France and Switzerland.

Both new lifts so far announced will be on the French side. In Avoriaz a new six six seat chairlifts will replace the triple chairlift du Fornet. In Ch�tel another new six seat chairlift will replace the double chairlift de Pr�-la-Joux.

A spokeswoman for the region said that more new facilities were likely to be built before next season but that details were not yet available.
