A Maryland teen is at home after he was charged with killing a 28-year-old Shrewsbury woman while snowboarding in Wyoming, police said.

Heather Donahue, a veterinarian on a one-year internship at Tufts University's Foster's Small Animal Hospital, was slowly skiing on an intermediate skill level slope when a snowboarder traveling much faster than Donahue crashed into her, though he had ample room to avoid the collision, a witness told the Teton County Sheriff's Office.

Police said the crash Thursday broke the snowboard in two. The snowboarder suffered minor injuries, and Donahue lost consciousness. She died at the hospital Friday.
Police said Donahue suffered numerous internal injuries, but doctors told police she died from head trauma.
Police arrested the 16-year-old Maryland snowboarder, charging him with manslaughter
