Snowjet’s timetable for the winter 2010/2011 ski season, highlights increased frequency on the Stansted-Sion route - up to three times weekly from 18 February – with a later Sunday return flight enabling weekend or short ski breaks. snowjet.png

“Our increased frequency, with departures on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during peak season, makes skiing weekends a very real option,” said David Lacy, Snowjet’s Managing Director.  “Weekend ski breaks are perfect for those who haven’t got time for a longer skiing holiday or for the enthusiast keen to grab every opportunity to get to the slopes.”

Between 18 February and 08 April, Snowjet’s schedule includes flights on Fridays, departing Stansted at 0900 and arriving in Sion at midday.  As Snowjet is the only scheduled service operating into Sion, transit through the airport is fast, meaning skiers can enjoy the whole of Friday afternoon on the slopes.  Similarly, with Sion Airport’s 30 minute check-in time and the nearest resort just a 20-minute transfer away, skiers can spend all day Sunday on the slopes, before returning on the 1700* flight.  “That’s a full two and a half days skiing,” said David Lacy.  “The ideal long-weekend, winter getaway.”

Snowjet introduced exclusive flights to Sion for the 09/10 winter ski season, providing the only scheduled services from the UK to this exclusive and efficient Alpine airport.  Flying direct to Sion, in the popular Swiss Valais Region, is the fastest route to some of Switzerland’s top ski resorts, including Zermatt, Verbier, Saas Fee, Crans Montana, Nendaz and Veysonnaz.  For non-skiers, the canton of Valais has wonderful winter weather, a renowned vineyard and many spa hotels.

“Our returning passengers love the time-saving benefits afforded by flying direct to Sion,” said David Lacy.  “I’m sure this season’s increased capacity on the route and greater flexibility, will appeal to passengers who haven’t yet experienced the advantages of flying direct to Sion.”

Reservations for ski flights to Chambery and Sion for next winter can be made online at www.snowjet.co.uk with lead in fares starting from £49 and £79 respectively, one way, including taxes.

The Stansted-Sion flights complement Snowjet’s established routes to Chambery ski airport in the French Alps from Gatwick, Stansted and Bristol.  Flying to Chambery makes for significant time savings on transfers to some of France’s top ski resorts, including Meribel, Val d’Isere and Courchevel.

Snowjet will be participating at The Ski & Snowboard Show [London Olympia, 20-24 October] and giving away a pair of tickets during each of the show days.  Visit Snowjet on Stand 414.

* 1700 Sunday departures from Sion to Stansted available 27 Feb to 10 Apr 2011.
