Shaun White is the winner of the 11th Nokia Air & Style Snowboard Festival. The young Californian impressed 13.000 spectators in the sold-out Casino Arena with the most difficult tricks and the best style. Joni Malmi from Finland became second, Nicolas Mller from Switzerland became third. The 11th Nokia Air & Style Snowboard Festival is one of the most important snowboard contests worldwide (prize money: 75.000). Attracted by the exclusive mixture of snowboarding, action and music thousands of spectators visit the Air & Style every year. For the first time the event was expanded to a two days festival. On Friday seven riders qualified for round 2 on Saturday. 5.000 watched 32 of the worlds best snowboarders fighting for the top positions. Besides the spectacular snowboard show (big-air and freestyle elements) the Red Bull FMX Show (freestyle motocross) was an outstanding highlight. Three FMX superstars, Mad Mike Jones, Tommy Clowers and Nate Adams enthused the visitors in Seefeld. The bands Die Happy, Beginner, Gang Starr, Wir sind Helden, Donots and Lagwagon were live on stage during this festival.. The elite of snowboarding came together on Saturday. Three time Air & Style champion Stefan Gimpl, last years winner David Benedek and spinmaster Marc-Andre Tarte were three of the sixteen best. Like last year Marc-Andre was able to do the twelve-sixty (3 rotations), Friedl Kolar took the risk of a one-footer and Nicolas Mller did a perfect backside 720 japan air. Judges were honoring not only the technique but also the style. Shaun White showed the best combination of both: a perfectly landed cab 900. Final results: Name Country Points Sponsor 1.
